Trusted adult members can have access to the club outside the normal bar hours. This is usually granted after one year's membership and an application to the Committee. There are secure lockers available to store your bowls, measures, etc. Jacks, mats, score cards, etc. are all readily available, so members can come to the club at any time and practice or enjoy a casual game with friends. Members pay no further fees for use of the green.
You can download the club rules here
Snooker is also free once you are a full member. You can play as often as you want!
Full membership is open to all adults over 17 years old, and is open to both sexes. We do have female members.
Youth membership is available for all those between 11 and 17. Younger children are also allowed into the club as long as they are supervised by parents or guardians.
There is no membership application procedure as such. Anyone can join the club by paying their subscriptions to the Steward or a Committee Member
To visit the club, simply call in when the bar is open, i.e. 7.30 to 11.00pm Monday, Wednesday & Thursday, and introduce yourself to the Steward, mentioning that you have seen the website and are considering membership.
Wolstanton Bowling Club is a limited company, so all full members can become shareholders and have a right to vote at annual and extraordinary general meetings. Full members can buy up to 100 shares at £1 each, but only a single share is needed at the point of joining the club, and this comes along with the first full membership fee.
This takes place on the last Friday of March each year. All members are invited to attend and participate but voting is restricted to shareholders. The AGM elects the committee and officers for the coming year, and debates any issues or major changes that may be needed.
